Here, I write about places not as tourist traps, but as living, breathing neighborhoods. I wander streets most guidebooks skip, meet people whose lives don’t show up in glossy ads. I seek the unexpected and uncomfortable, where we are most likely to find both chaos and charm. Three Saints Road isn’t about ticking off checklists, but about immersion, curiosity, and the grit of real life abroad. I try to write so you might feel what I feel – a greater connection with the rest of the world.
Dear Jay–
What a treat to see your photos of Peru and Ecuador! We were in Colca, Lima, Machu Picchu and Cuzco in 2006 and savored them all. This was a follow up to a trip I made in 1971, and I don’t believe that they even charged admission at Machu Picchu at that time….Hope that you are well.
Warmly,
TSH
